So Who Is Sam Parnell?

Global digital transformation persists, shaping the future. Sam can help you collaborate with the right experts.

How Sam’s journey began

Digital Transformation and Change Management expert Sam Parnell is the driving force behind Measured Brilliance. At her consultancy, Sam collaborates with fellow digital professionals to provide invaluable guidance to businesses and individuals navigating the ever-evolving landscape of digital and data projects.

In addition to this, Sam leverages her expertise to assist business owners in delving into the very essence of their operations and constructing comprehensive growth strategies. In her own words, she describes her role as one that involves translating technical concepts for non-technical individuals, addressing the 'whys' and 'hows'.

Sam specialises in devising digital growth plans, harnessing the potential of data suites and digital tools for businesses of any nature. Her overarching objective is to empower businesses by demystifying technology and facilitating its seamless integration through targeted training initiatives. Sam's profound knowledge and infectious energy set her apart as a truly distinctive professional, ideally positioned to collaborate with small and medium enterprises.

Beyond her consultancy work, Sam leads the Ipswich & Suffolk Tech Network, directing efforts towards providing accessible CPD education for diverse audiences, spanning from students and SMEs to government entities and innovators.

That was just the beginning

Sam’s career in the tech (or digital) industry has been instrumental in shaping her into an exceptional digital growth coach. With a deep understanding of technology trends, digital strategies, and data analytics, Sam bring a unique perspective to coaching that blends technical expertise with business acumen. Sam has honed her problem-solving skills and leverages this knowledge to help businesses harness the power of digital tools and drive sustainable growth.

  • Sam’s path to becoming an expert in Digital Transformation and Change Management has largely revolved around active participation and immersion in the field. She’s worked with business and organisations across various sectors, platforms, and operating systems, contributing to the development of new green-field tech stacks and strategising concepts for funding and growth. Her diverse experience is a blend of skills, and the true value lies in the confidence she’s gained, enabling her to assist clients in harnessing technology creatively, while building robust foundations.

Sam’s experience allows her to explore the wider strategy of business growth within a business itself, online optimisation is often centred around evidencing relationships with others. Sam launched the Digital Advice Service (DAS) in our county town Ipswich.  DAS is a program which teaches SMEs how to read their business data in the same way they use financial data such as a P&L statement. This information helps them to create efficient and effective growth strategies and track ongoing performance. It also allows businesses to grow - together.

  • What’s unique about Sam’s style is not what she teaches you but how she teach it. Having worked with many digital novices over the past decade Sam is acutely aware that how we learn digital skills is more important than the skills themselves.

Sam uses the term ‘Continuous Learner’ to describe how she not only teach you the step-by-step process of how to use the software or read data, she also supports her clients through that process.

Sam is there to answer the ‘stupid questions’ which tie together the expertise of the people in the business with the nuances of the many technical tools they use.

  • We often read about Change Makers and while part of Sam’s work includes partial or wholesale change, there’s another job she considers to be more important, the management of change. It’s important to help others manage and understand the changes they and their teams are experiencing. Helping them creating pathways to help everyone stay on the same trajectory.

A change maker actively drives positive change within an organisation, whereas change management is a broader organisational process and discipline focused on planning, implementing, and monitoring changes to achieve desired outcomes while minimizing disruption and resistance. Change makers may play a crucial role in initiating change, while change management provides the structured approach to guide organisations through the complexities of the change process.
